- TriAxis is distributed as shareware on an "I trust you" basis and is not in
- any form to be considered public domain or free. Considerable effort went
- into creating the program and I am retaining full protection under the
- copyright laws. However, I also want you to be able to share my games with
- your friends. So, please feel free to hand on as many copies as you would
- like, as long as you include all of the original files.
-
- If you are going to use TriAxis for your personal enjoyment, whether you got
- it from a distributor or a friend, please mail a check or money order to me at
- the above address. The registration fee for TriAxis is $10. I depend on your
- registering to continue devoting full time to making fun to use programs that
- don't require you to adapt to the program. I'd also like your comments and
- suggestions. In exchange, I'll add your name to the list of those eligible for
- updates, contests, and 24-hour technical support. If you wish, you may use
- the registration form by typing PRINT TRIAXIS.REG at the DOS prompt.
-
- Like all of my games, TriAxis is designed for full color with high resolution
- EGA or VGA graphics and should run on most PC's and work alikes. The built in
- mouse support works automatically for almost any mouse. If you have any
- problems, let me know. There is a provision for disabling the game sounds if
- you want the game to play quietly.

- The TriAxis board or Biosphere is an island composed of hexagonal bio-zones
- with six colors for the different types of terrain. Each game starts with a
- new outline and color arrangement for the island. TriAxis is played somewhat
- like checkers except you may move in any of six directions. In addition, your
- survival depends on how well you use the environment and control your total
- population. Up to six players may play at the same time and you may include
- the computer as one of the players.
-
- Detailed instructions are available at the beginning of the game. Although
- the rules explain some of the strategy, it is really up to the players to set
- the mood of the game. Triaxis may be played very aggressively, with every
- move aimed at capturing opponent's markers, or passively with each player
- trying to gain the maximum population, or somewhere in between. The scoring
- will support both. Each player's score is calculated from the number of
- captures, the number of successful moves, and how many markers were added to
- the biosphere.
-
- TriAxis will maintain up to ten different score files for you. Each score
- file will retain the ten highest games. A zero (0) score file is included on
- the disk with some of the scores made during the games evaluation. You may
- select it by pressing zero <0> when asked for the file number.
-
- You may copy the TriAxis files into any directory on hard disk or another
- floppy. The only requirement is that all of the files associated with the
- program, except for its BAT file, must be in the same directory. You can
- execute the program directly, with a batch file, or from ActMenu. If you put
- TriAxis on your hard disk, the BAT file may need changes for your system.
-
-
- Good luck, and let me know if you enjoy TriAxis. Your support for my programs
- is sincerely appreciated.
-
- Thanks,
- Chris

-
- P.S. Please retain the original files if you are going to pass TriAxis along.
